“The Wisdom Centre is the finest example of progressive ecumenical Christianity.” — Wayne
The Wisdom Centre inspires individuals and faith leaders to be catalysts in the renewal of spiritual practice. Our vision is based, in part, on what recent research describes as the “Practicing Congregation”, mainstream parishes revitalized through worship, spirituality, and the intentional formation of a way of life.
The Wisdom Centre supports the “reclaiming of our ancient traditions” in new and innovative ways.
See our events page for more information on these and other events taking place. Or, take a moment to see some of the other Wisdom Centre events participants have enjoyed over the years.
Co-Founders of the Wisdom Centre
The Rev. Anna Greenwood-Lee has been the Rector of St. Laurence, Calgary, since 2006 and feels privileged to work alongside Don McLeod in over-seeing the Wisdom Centre. Previous to St. Laurence, Anna served at Christ Church, Calgary and Grace Church on-the-Hill, Toronto. She grew up in Edmonton and studied theology at the Episcopal Divinity School in Massachusetts. Her husband and two children would dispute any claims she makes to any great wisdom.
The Rev. Don McLeod started out his ordained ministry as a Lutheran but now hangs his hat with the Anglicans. He has a ‘real job’ as VP, Organization Effectiveness with Bethany Care Society but enjoys contributing to St. Laurence as Associate Priest and as the Wisdom Centre co-director. He is a skilled facilitator and has consulted with both the faith community and not for profit sector for many years. He is recognized as an expert at creating space for meaningful conversations.
