The Wisdom Centre is pleased to offer a learning opportunity on mutual mentoring in April and May of 2018. Three half-day sessions have been designed for those who wish to serve as mentors as well as those who would benefit from a relationship with a mentor. By including mentors and protégés in the same sessions, the concept of mutual mentoring will be explored and developed. Elders will benefit from the curiosity, energy and fresh perspectives of the protégés who will in turn gain from the experience and accumulated wisdom of their mentor.   All who participate will gain skills in how to listen and properly mentor.  All will grow personally and professionally.

The highly-participative sessions will be facilitated by Corey Olynik and Wayne Stewart, co-founders in 2005 of Executive Directions, a successful coaching program for non-profit executive directors. Both facilitators have extensive experience in helping others grow personally and professionally.  Both have themselves been mentored, have served as mentors in a variety of contexts, and have written and developed and delivered training on the subject.

Content will include

  • Emotional Intelligence
  • Servant Leadership
  • Process Skills
  • Fierce Conversations
  • Jesus as Mentor

We will draw upon the work of

  • Susan Scott
  • Daniel Goleman
  • James Autry
  • David Irvine

The sessions will be conducted at Christ Church, Elbow Park, from 9am to 11:30am on Thursdays, April 5, April 26 and May 17. Mark your calendar and join us in the spring.

The fee for the three sessions is $100 with an early bird fee of $80 if you register by March 15.  Registration includes a copy of Corey Olynik’s book The Mentor’s Mentor. Bursaries are available on request to cover a portion of the fee.
